The Stark County High School Dance Team attended Universal Dance Camp at Illinois State University July 6th-9th.  The Stark County Dance Team has 15 girls on the team. The UDA camp had 30 teams and 400 girls in attendance.  The Stark Dance Team performed their home routine and received a Excellent Ribbon Award. 
Each girl spends the four days at camp learning four routines to be judged on individually.  There are four levels of difficulty.  The girls that are new to the team start at a level I and with each year they have been on the team they move up to a higher level of difficulty. They brought home 23 Superior ribbons, 12 Excellent ribbons and 7 Outstanding ribbons.  The team received the Spirit Stick three out of the four days they were at camp and received a Spirit Stick to bring home.  The team received the Rock Star Award decided upon by fellow dancers and only given out to one team per night. 
Three girls from the team tried out for the UDA All-Star Dance Team with senior Brittany Fleming achieving All-Star. If you obtain All-Star status you are invited to dance in Paris on New Year’s Eve.  The team captains: Brittany Fleming, Holly Serpette and Robin Gray were invited to dance in the Macy’s Day Parade in New York City.  The dance team had a great time and are looking forward to performing their dances for the upcoming football and dance season.
